Kolarac Endowment &#8211; Rossi Fest office 17-20h<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">A world-renowned opera singer, a professor of vocal pedagogy, and a long-term associate of Rossi Fest, Olga Makarina, joined us in this festival edition as well and held a two-day masterclass for young opera singers. Having in mind current epidemiological measures and restrictions, Ms Makarina joined us online via Zoom, while the participants and pianist Sr\u0111an Jarakovi\u0107 worked from the office of Rossi Fest at Kolarac Endowment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The soprano from the Metropolitan Opera Olga Makarina was born in Archangel, Russia, where she earned her Masters in piano and voice from the St Petersburg Conservatory. She has won several important prizes and awards and is especially notable for her pedagogical work with young singers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Her first New York appearance was at the New York City Opera as <em>Lucia di Lammermoor<\/em>. She has performed as well <em>Gilda<\/em>in <em>Rigoletto<\/em>, Konstanze in Mozart&#8217;s Abduction from the <em>Seraglio and Olympia<\/em> in <em>Les Contes d&#8217;Hoffmann<\/em>, <em>Ilia<\/em>in <em>Idomeneo<\/em>(Lincoln Center&#8217;s Mostly Mozart Festival), <em>Violetta<\/em>in <em>La Traviata<\/em> (Kirov Opera) and <em>Eudoxie<\/em>in <em>La Juive<\/em> (Opera Orchestra of New York). Apart from these, she has also appeared as <em>Zerbinetta<\/em>in <em>Ariadne auf Naxos<\/em> with the <em>Minnesota Orchestra<\/em> and Orff&#8217;s <em>Carmina Burana<\/em>.
