Classical music lovers in Belgrade will have the unique opportunity to experience an extraordinary musical evening\u2014the Symphony of the Alps<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0concert, taking place on April 25, 2025, at 8:00 PM in the Atrium of the National Museum<\/strong>. This exceptional event will feature the sounds of Swiss classical and traditional music, blending the rich musical heritage of the Alps with the Belgrade audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert will feature a diverse program performed by renowned artists. The soloist of the evening will be Ana Stankovi\u0107 on the Alpine horn, a unique instrument whose sound resonates with the Swiss mountains and folk traditions. She will be joined by the Belgrade Jewish Chamber Orchestra and Baruch Brothers<\/em>Choir<\/strong>, under the musical direction of Stefan Zeki\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana Stankovi\u0107 is an internationally acclaimed Alpine horn and French horn artist who lives and works in Germany. After completing her studies in Belgrade and furthering her education in Germany as a DAAD scholar, she built a distinguished international career. Her performances are characterized by exceptional interpretation and the unique sound of the Alpine horn. She has collaborated with numerous prestigious orchestras and ensembles across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The audience can look forward to a carefully curated repertoire featuring works by Swiss and European composers. The program includes String Octet Op. 176 by Swiss composer Joseph Joachim Raff, followed by Sinfonia Pastorella by Leopold Mozart, a piece written specifically for the Alpine horn and strings. A special highlight of the evening will be Symphony No. 9 in C Major “Swiss” by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, evoking the sounds and landscapes of the Alps through a rich orchestral palette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This concert aims to introduce Serbian audiences to Swiss musical heritage and foster artistic exchange between the two countries. The Alpine horn, as a symbol of Swiss musical tradition, will take center stage, bringing an authentic tone to the overall musical experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana Stankovi\u0107 is an internationally sought-after artist of the alpine horn and French horn, currently residing in Germany, in the Black Forest region, in the state of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. In her hometown of Belgrade, after graduating from the Mokranjac Music High School, she completed horn studies at the University of Arts \/ Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Serbia, in the class of Prof. Milan Radi\u0107. Simultaneously, she completed both undergraduate and postgraduate horn studies as a DAAD scholarship recipient at the Bodensee University \/ State University of Music in Trossingen, Germany, studying with Prof. Francis Orval and Prof. Michael H\u00f6ltzl, the founder or “father” of the German horn school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is the winner of numerous national and international competitions, and was also a scholarship holder at the prestigious international arts school Interlochen in the USA. She has honed her skills in many international youth orchestras and masterclasses with prominent musicians such as Hermann Baumann, Froydis Ree Wekre, Thomas M\u00fcller, Herman Jeurissen, Christian Lampert, Norbert Sterz, Wolfgang Gaag, Randall Faust, Lowell Shaw, and Ferenc Tarjani, who enriched her musical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has collaborated with orchestras in Berlin and Bayreuth, Ensemble de Cor in Luxembourg, I Solisti di Perugia in Italy, Camerata in T\u00fcbingen, Konstanz and Basel, Calamus Ensemble, the European Philharmonic, S\u00fcdwestdeutsche Philharmonie in Konstanz, S\u00fcddeutsche Camerata, Dresdner Sinfoniker, NDR Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, KlangVerwaltung Munich, and Camerata Salzburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana has appeared at international festivals in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, the USA, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, and beyond. Among them are Kultur im Kloster Alpirsbach, M\u00fcnstermusik Konstanz, International Festspiele Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, International Dies Organorum Belgrade, Brigachtaler Kulturherbst, Konzertreihe Sommerkonzerte in Rottweiler Kirchen, SommerNacht Villingen, Konzertreihe Psallite!, Swiss National Day of the Canton of Schaffhausen, H\u00f6ri Musiktage Bodensee, 28th Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Children’s & Youth Literature Festival 2023 in Singen, Hamburger Kultursommer, Salzburger Festspiele, and Chiemsee Herreninsel Festspiele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside her rich concert career, she is also a highly sought-after expert in the field of pedagogy and conducting for brass instruments and wind orchestras, as well as in the alpine horn scene in Germany and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early 2020, Ana Stankovi\u0107 introduced the, until then, unknown alpine horn for the first time ever in Northern Ireland, in Belfast, at Queen\u2019s University, where she was a guest lecturer and soloist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021 and 2022, she was a double recipient of the prestigious award presented by the Ministry of Culture of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg for her work. In 2022, she also received a national-level award for her contribution to culture in the Federal Republic of Germany from the Deutsche Musikrat. Since 2023, she has been appointed as a lecturer for alpine horn at the newly established state-run Musikzentrum Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This versatile artist possesses an extensive repertoire of traditional and contemporary styles for the alpine horn. She presents the alpine horn in a wide range of genres through an unexpectedly soft and delicate yet incredibly powerful and strong sound, and is dedicated to the development of new functional possibilities for the instrument.
