Biography

Duo Edit, formed by the violinist Edit Makedonska and the harpist Gorana Ćurgus, was founded in 2011.

The duo’s repertoire is very varied: virtuoso works, popular classics, evergreens and works by Serbian composers, some of them commissioned by the duo (works by Mirjana Živković, Vojkan Borisavljević and others). The duo has given a number of notable performances: at the opening of the Harp Festival in Belgrade, the Tisin cvet festival in Novi Kneževac, the May – Month of Music festival in Vranje and the New Year Festival in Sofia, as well as in important Belgrade venues (the Atrium of the National Museum, Artget Gallery, the SANU Gallery, the Ethnographic Museum, the National Theatre…) and in Ub, Pančevo, Paraćin, Loznica and other towns across Serbia.

The Composers’ Association of Serbia, the Association of Music Artists of Serbia and SOKOJ have recognised the importance of the duo and its contribution to preserving and nurturing Serbian cultural heritage. For the Lilac record label, the duo released two CDs in 2021 – Rhapsody of Sound and Inspirations for Violin and Harp.
