Biography

She was born in Belgrade, where, alongside her studies of literature at the Faculty of Philology, she completed her undergraduate and master’s studies at the Faculty of Music in the class of Prof. Biserka Cvejić. She was named the best student of her year and the best student of the University of Belgrade, and went on to become the first Doctor of Solo Singing in Serbia. Sofija Pižurica is a principal soloist of the Opera of the National Theatre in Belgrade, and her repertoire includes more than twenty leading roles. She is a frequent guest at opera houses abroad.
